I've never read anything by Muriel Spark before, and this sounds wonderful. Curious if you read Anne Enright's new book "The Forgotten Waltz"? I'm about 2/3 of the way through and have no sympathy for any of the characters. I'm curious what others think of it?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8502245000248725118.post-59737361549567588462012-04-26T15:09:51.922-07:002012-04-26T15:09:51.922-07:00Isn't Spark great? Loitering with Intent is now definitely on my list. I really love anything that examines creativity. Now I have a feeling that my To Read list is going to be growing with more of her novels, starting with this one. It sounds very intriguing, and the act of "loitering with intent" sounds pretty appealing in itself. I like what you say about how Spark combines sly comedy with deeper meaning. I found that to be true in the book I read as well (The Girls of Slender Means--still getting my thoughts together about it!).Miss Bibliophilehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09433318219707424076noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8502245000248725118.post-67212932851203214912012-04-25T01:03:04.327-07:002012-04-25T01:03:04.327-07:00I like the sound of this one and will look out for...I like the sound of this one and will look out for it. I have to say that I'm finding her short stories a wee bit out there for me but I'm slowly settling in to her style. The very next copy of Loitering with Intent that I spy at a second-hand shop is all mine.Darlenehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07415316482631852565noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8502245000248725118.post-9327037970602649442012-04-24T16:42:13.973-07:002012-04-24T16:42:13.973-07:00Sunday, I have so enjoyed reading your review of ...Sunday, I have so enjoyed reading your review of "Loitering with Intent".
