I am just back from New York where spring was in full bloom. The weather was absolutely gorgeous! After I catch my breath, I will write more about the trip. Some of the highlights: Alan Cumming's performance in "Cabaret," "The Little Prince" exhibition at the Morgan Library, the Frick Museum (always!), brunch at Balthazar, cappuccinos at Sant Ambroeus, and "Beautiful" (the Carole King musical). But my favorite part of the trip was walking everywhere and seeing the display of flowers along the streets. Here are some photos of the city all dressed up for spring. I don't think I have ever seen it looking prettier!
Tulips on Park Avenue
The trees were in blossom wherever I looked
Framing the old buildings in the most beautiful way
The Morgan Library had a fabulous exhibition on "The Little Prince"
Carpets of fallen petals on the grass
Daffodils in Central Park
Everyone seemed to be out that day enjoying the beautiful weather
And the tulips were everywhere

New York looks so lush with Spring blooms....the weather looks mild and wonderful for sightseeing and walking. I hope that you had a delightful holiday...sounds like you took in quite a few live productions. Did you see Matilda by any chance?
ReplyDeleteNo, we didn't get a chance to see Matilda. We were there for five days and saw three productions. The third one was "All the Way" with Bryan Cranston which was fabulous!
DeleteSunday,
ReplyDeleteNew York is fabulous anytime but in Spring the city blossoms after a long winter! You photos are fabulous! I cannot wait to hear more about your trip.
What fun photographs. I can't wait to hear more of your trip. We'll be there in November; I'm really looking forward to the visit!
ReplyDeleteI love New York City in the spring! My husband was there last weekend, too, and I'm still a little jealous.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, NYC does indeed know how to do spring!
ReplyDeleteWelcome Home!
ReplyDeleteSunday you make New York look so beautiful. It takes a beautiful person to make life look so gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI bet the whole city was joyous after such a long and cold winter. I love living in L.A., but do get a little homesick seeing photos of New York, especially of Central Park. It sounds like you had a fabulous time, ate well, and saw amazing museums and shows. Such a civilized trip!
ReplyDeleteΝever been there but you showed us some very pretty and flowery photos of this city.
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful weather and beautiful photos--you obviously had a great time!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, and welcome back!
ReplyDeleteSo colorful! Flowers are good for the soul.
ReplyDeleteNew York looks lovely in the sun! How was brunch at Balthazar?
ReplyDeleteThank you for your years of "eye candy" blogs!! Love them. I love everything you love but have a question.....I'm looking for a new place to stay in NYC. Any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteOh, I also have your daughters lovely table linens and love them:)
Thanks much, Zoie
I think the Ludlow is wonderful!
