Last Days of Downton

If you have an Instagram account and follow the Downton Abbey actors, such as Michelle Dockery and Joanne Froggatt, you are probably aware that the filming of the final season of Downton Abbey is almost over. In fact, it ends this week. The stars have been posting some very cute as well as touching photos of the final days of filming (#LastDaysOfDownton). Here are a few of my favorites.

It's hard to believe this show is coming to an end. What a phenomenon it has been.

The final season will air on PBS in January.

Will you miss it as much as much as me?

  1. Yes, and surely he could have found some new writers and characters to keep it going for more years.

  2. Sunday, I am always happy anticipating the new season of Downton but with reluctance this season. I've come to know the characters so well, the beautiful costumes and of course the house! Yes, I will miss it terribly.

  4. Absolutely LOVE Downton Abbey and the last photo of your post! I have just signed Jessica Fellows to speak at our annual Junior League luncheon the end of January to talk about all things Downton, right in the middle of DA final season hysteria. I can't wait!

  5. I'll have to check out this hashtag, although I admit I've not seen the last few series of Downton (I thought the first was by far the best!).

  6. This is a lovely post Sunday....thank you.

Everything about this series I loved.....the scenery, sets, costumes!!!!!!, story lines etc etc. The ultimate romantic period drama....bravo to all who helped to realise it.

I must admit I'm a great fan of period dramas.....I think it's because, if done well, you get transported into a different era and can be totally 'lost' in it for a couple of hours. I saw 'Far from the Madding Crowd' last week....divine! Thomas could really spin a good yarn couldn't he! What a romantic he must have been to have written such a beautiful tale.

    Ciao

  8. Indeed, yes; I love Downton Abbey and will rue its end. I am, however, looking forward to the costume collection coming to Chicago's Driehouse in 2016. It will help ease the ending of this fabulous series.
